Hearthbound
Identity: Community, local independence, and survival
Flag symbolism: Hearth flame and branches.
Core values: Community · Survival · Independence.
The Hearthbound are a loose network of independent villages and towns that value local decision-making, food production, repair skills, and mutual aid.
Some settlements survive near geothermal springs, naturally heated caves, or warm underground water. These places offer resilience but rarely enough heat to support large populations or heavy industry.
Ambition: Preserve their independence and keep their communities alive without submitting to the major powers.
Weakness: Small populations and limited manufacturing make them vulnerable to shortages and coercion.
Transit network: Uses regional lines and smaller branches to acquire medicine, tools, food, and embers.
Natural heat makes the Hearthbound less vulnerable to supply disruptions, but not self-sufficient.
